Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Will it be possible to connect to the internet on the day of the conference (8 November 2017)?
A: Conference participants can use the WiFi connection to "eduroam" or "mendel host" net. The login informations to the network "mendel host" will be received by participants during registration.
Q: I am interested in conference accommodation. To whom should I send my request?
A: We do not secure the accommodation for conference’s participants anymore because the term for expressing the interest expired on October 15, 2017. However, you can book your nights at Avanti Hotel or Efi Hotel – both of them are close to the conference venue – or any other hotel in Brno.
Q: My contribution(s) is/are in "Requires decision" mode despite the fact peer review process closed on September 30, 2017.
A: All MendelNet contributions undergo a two-step peer review (formal, scientific). Due to volume of contributions being received this year, it was not possible to close both rounds of review in all cases within the aforementioned date. Thus, the peer review process was prolonged and comes to an end on October 31, 2017. We kindly ask all authors to react accordingly.
Q: I have received a reviewer’s comment that includes a great amount of non-comprehensible characters (several pages long). What am I expected to do?
A: Due to technical error that was already removed, this could happen occasionally. Now, after signing in to the editorial system (log in), there are only readable versions of reviewers’ comments.
Q: In which language should I submit my contribution?
A: The conference proceedings are traditionally evaluated for an inclusion in Clarivate Analytics (Thomson Reuters) databases. Thus, it is mandatory to submit your contribution in English. This is hardly a new requirement as the full-text contributions are accepted ONLY in English from 2013 (MendelNet history). The full texts do not undergo the language review and each author is responsible for his/her contribution’s accuracy.
Q: What are the conference languages?
A: The conference languages are English, Czech, and Slovak. However, as the event is aimed at international scientific community, it is recommended to present in English (see for Instructions/Instructions for conference participants/Registration, oral presentation, conference language, contributions limit).
